If I’m honest, I’ve never been great at keepin

If I’m honest, I’ve never been great at keeping up a sketchbook practice. I get excited, buy new supplies, make a few pages I love... and then completely forget it exists by week three. 😅

So why try again? A few reasons:
1️⃣ I’ve been missing that relaxed, creative feeling I used to get from urban sketching. Kind of like visual journaling: drawing little moments, adding quick notes, and capturing the day in a more playful way. I stopped because the setup was too fussy, but I’ve been craving that spark again.
2️⃣ I stumbled across Dylan M.’s Skillshare classes on illustrated journaling and got hooked. Her prompts are simple, fun, and super easy to stick with.
3️⃣ I’ve been craving something a little more hands-on. No Ctrl+Z. No perfect lines. Just real-life streaks, smudges, and scribbles.

This time I’m keeping it simple: same sketchbook, same set of supplies (Tombow brush markers, my little birthday gift to myself 💛). The limited palette is helping me stay consistent and keeps the pressure low.

No daily goals. No big expectations. Just something fun to spark ideas and let me play again at my own pace and rhythm. Swipe through for some of my first pages!

Something new and fun just landed!

💐 Flat Out Loved is my newest Mother's Day card collection and it’s officially one of my faves.

Each card is a little celebration of the way different moms unwind. Whether she’s out in the garden, in full spa mode, getting creative, or enjoying a night out with all the extras.

The whole set was designed as a flat-lay (get it? flat out loved 😄) and tied together with a soft, feel-good colour palette.

They're available for licensing, and I’m also taking on custom commissions if you’re dreaming up something similar for your next product line.

Running a little late to the #noaistarterpack trend, but here’s my take!

I really liked the idea of designing a little doll/action figure of myself and thinking about what my accessories would be. It was such a fun way to spend a quiet Sunday afternoon.

As for the AI side of this trend, my thoughts have always been pretty simple: it’s just another tool in the toolbox. I use AI in my process sometimes to help brainstorm ideas, organize my thoughts, or handle boring admin stuff.

But when it comes to making the art? That’s all me. I’ve never used AI to generate my illustrations, and honestly, I don’t ever want to. For me, that would take away the joy of creating, which is kinda the whole point, right?

I really hope we start to see more clear regulations around how AI models are trained. Like actual rules with integrity behind them. I know that’s wishful thinking, but I imagine bigger companies with a lot to lose will help shape that future.

Until then, I’m just doing what I can, keeping my head down and creating art the way I always have.

Just a little reminder I wrote in my sketchbook: There is nothing wrong with you. 🖊️🧠

I wish I’d realized this much earlier in life. It would’ve saved me a lot of self-doubt.

Growing up, I was constantly told I was “too quiet,” asked why I didn’t talk more 😶, and made to feel like I needed fixing. At one point, my family even put me in therapy because they thought something was wrong with me 😔. Spoiler: it didn’t go the way they expected.

I kept waiting for the moment I’d magically become a “normal” young adult. But that never happened... because there was nothing wrong with me to begin with.

It turns out, I’m just an introvert. I like quiet. I like my own company. I like thinking deeply and moving at my own pace. And honestly? That’s not something that needs fixing. It’s something that deserves understanding.

So if you’ve ever been made to feel like you’re too quiet, too different, or too much of something you can’t change, this is your reminder:
There is nothing wrong with you. You just enjoy life to a different beat. 💛🎧
