Tropical Christmas? Yes, please! 🌴🎅 When I got an art call asking for holiday designs with a tropical twist, I couldn’t resist diving in. This card—featuring Santa’s sunny cabana—is one of three in the collection, and it’s one of my favourites! ☀️✨

✏️ Fun fact: Every bit of lettering you see—inside and out—is hand-drawn. No fonts here, just custom lettering to make the design truly unique!

🌟 Curious how a greeting card goes from idea to reality? Here’s a peek at the process behind my card, 'I Pick You'! 🌸💌

It all starts with brainstorming themes, occasions, and sentiments that I hope will resonate. Once I land on the perfect caption, I sketch thumbnail layouts to balance all the elements of the theme. ✍️

From there, I dive into Procreate or Photoshop to map out the hand lettering and illustration—positioning is key so nothing gets lost in the design! 🎨 Adding textures and refining colours bring the card to life, ensuring a visually striking finish. Then I tie everything together with coordinating interior details, like matching colours and tiny illustrations.

Finally, it’s off to Photoshop for the finishing touches, prepping the design for my portfolio, Airtable, and future mockups. DONE! ✅

Every step is crafted with care to create something that feels both heartfelt and visually engaging. 💖

2024 was a year of focus for me—zeroing in on gr

2024 was a year of focus for me—zeroing in on greeting card design and submitting to targeted art calls. 🎯 This intentional shift made a big difference, helping me land some wonderful licensing opportunities.

✨ My biggest win? Doubling my business income compared to 2023! Plus, over 60% of that came from one impactful partnership, proving how valuable a clear, focused strategy can be.

It’s been so rewarding to see my art out in the world, bringing a little joy to someone’s day—especially through heartfelt cards that make people smile.

The illustrations I’m sharing here were all licensed in 2024 for greeting cards—each one a little piece of my journey this past year. 💌

🎉 As we say goodbye to 2024 and welcome in a fresh new year, I’ve been reflecting on the journey my art business has taken over the past 12 months. From setting goals (some achieved, some still in progress) to dreaming up new plans for 2025, this is the time of year when I love taking stock and thinking about what’s next.

This year was all about focus. I decided to zero in on greeting cards and gift packaging, narrowing my creative energy and pitching efforts. Spoiler alert: greeting cards absolutely stole the show! My biggest lesson? Focusing on one product type and submitting to targeted art calls has been a total game-changer for getting my work licensed.

I’m also thrilled to share that 2024 was my most successful year yet! My business income doubled compared to 2023 (swipe for a little snapshot of last year vs. this year 📊). While I’m still balancing my creative work with my day job, seeing that steady growth—and knowing 60% of my income came from one amazing client—has been so encouraging.
