I’m not a huge nature explorer by nature (😆) but when I do go out into the wild, I always end up taking a butt-load of inspiration and reference photos. Every year I add a few more new-to-me floral refs to draw inspiration from. Personally, Summer is one of my favourite seasons to forage for new inspiration, and this year was no exception.

This month's inspiration
All this talk of nature walks and reference photos all boil down to finding little treasures of inspiration for future artwork. Speaking of which, last month I photographed some beautiful coneflowers on my way out on the town. I’ve had them on the brain ever since.
Can you guess what’s this month's inspiration?
Coneflowers! Yep, you guessed it! I couldn’t get them out of my head, so why not draw them for September right?
Originally I was thinking of going with a mix of pink and white for the flowers, but I couldn’t make it work the way I imagined so I went back to the drawing board and decided on pink, purple, and blue. Perfect!
Final thoughts
Overall, I love how these turned out. I really like the almost-sorta vine-y feel of the layout. If you’re into that too and enjoy free monthly wallpapers, why not sign up for my newsletter to get your hands on these florals?
